Leading Schools Personal Learning Plan (PLP) v 1.0

The Personal Learning Plan is an evolving touchstone document for developing your Leading Schools Project and reflecting on your learning with your critical friend. For each PLP reflection (3/year), you will review/refine your plan and describe the related Wicked Awesome Learning Opportunities (WALOs) that you have pursued at your school site. After sharing your written reflection with your critical friend, you will have the opportunity to have a reflective conversation about your work. This document will lead into your Leading School Project Program Reflection.
1. What are you working on, and what do you hope to accomplish, in terms of …
a. The craft of teaching/working with students?
I want to work on these areas:
· Create confidence in students
· Help them in Reading, Writing and Speaking
· Help students understand PBL .
· Independent learning (If Possible)which is an essential 21st century Skills.
· Create Happy Classrooms by learning outcomes and satisfaction(ability to work in Teams,Groups- Ability to lead and follow).
· Documentation through videos, photos and Product outcomes of students.
· Bring in different Assessment Systems according to the plan and Topics (The Students
Currently I teach Social Studies from std 5 & 8 Transition students. I teach through Videos, ppts, written notes in class, Group Activity, Model Making, Story Writing, Comic Making etc.
I aim to build a classroom environment which encourages and motivates students to learn and challenge themselves.
A classroom where students are constantly engaged in activities where they have to collaborate, think creatively and at the same time are able to make connections with their curriculum , other subjects and the real world.
b. Being a leader and collaborating with colleagues?
· At presents, whatever I do in class is at individual level. I wish to collaborate with teachers of other subject within my team and in the process help me consolidate PBL in my classroom
· As a leader one of my major tasks is to align my team members with the goals of
the organization.
Ensuring that teachers and students understand the essence of PBL and are able to
develop strategies to use it effectively in the classroom.
2. As you think about your Leading Schools Project…
a. What fierce wonderings are emerging? What do you hope to learn?
My fierce wonderings:
u How will I manage achieving all the above goals with the given timeframe
u To what extent will I be able to involve my colleagues to collaborate with me?
u How will I implement PBL with the constraints of the time table ?
u · Will I be able to get rid of the conventional time table ?
u · How will I motivate students to be involved in the projects ?
u · · How will PBL help students see value in skills and not just grades.
b. How might these be framed in an essential question or project?
u How will I bring my students to the level of English in terms of Reading, Writing, Speaking and Comprehending.
u "How does project based learning support integration across subjects?"
u "How am I going to make a difference in ways students need to learn 21st century skills and become independent learners?"
c. What do you hope to accomplish?
u Help students Develop the confidence, content and English to help them to enter Regular Classroom.Develop as a PBL teacher, integrate with colleagues, become a better leader at my school.
u Enhance my understanding of PBL and how it can be used to develop 21st century skills.
u Building lasting relationships with the educators at TGES.
3. Design a set of at least three Wicked Awesome Learning Opportunities (WALOs) as possible next steps. The first WALO should be designed to help you reflect on your own practice; the second should be centered around how you share your with immediate colleagues and the last WALO asks you to lead members of your community. Ideas for WALOs are listed on the reverse—or you may design your own. Each WALO is an opportunity for action and reflection enabling you to address your essential questions.
